Design and construction of an open single-family home S.-V.
Sometimes, a complicated plot requires a simple solution. This house was designed and built on a sharply-sloping plot. The careful use of open and closed surfaces and thoughtful room layout turned this defect into an asset. A cantilever on the ground floor of the house creates a visual relation between the street and back yard. The large windows are an informed choice and allow the viewer a clear view of the broad-leaved tree and focus on the entrance hall. The large concrete panels on the floor create a nice contrast with the darker façade stone on the ground floor. And the panel joints perfectly fit in with the other lines of the house to produce sophisticated simplicity.
