Design and construction of a pharmacy.
The design assignment details the construction of a pharmacy at the end of a row of houses. A row that, up to then, had ended in a stately façade farm. The pharmacy itself is voluminous structure, thanks to the fully-closed top and partly-closed front façade. The large window display draws attention to the function of the building. The second glass section divides the new structure and the characteristic neighbouring accommodation, thus allowing the two buildings to maintain their own character. The robustness of the design is in the details, including the unremarkable gutter, the roofed entrance area, and the high degree of transparency.
