For this competition design for Tongers Huis we drew our inspiration from the urban structure of Tongeren town centre. The design of the inner Tongeren streets has been extended to the inner area, but in the interpretation of footpaths. Our design keeps the area completely pedestrianised. There is an underground garage for the residents’ cars. This approach enables us to make full use of the available space for building. The project has taken on a distinctly green character, thanks to the use of green roofs and the green plantations along the nearby squares and footpaths.

Each dwelling has its own patio to ensure privacy.
